Navigating to Attendance in Educate School

Attendance by Student Tab

  1. In Educate School, click the Students tab. The Students tab appears with the Directory options displayed by default.
  2. Under the Students tab, click the Attendance sub-tab.
    • The By Student Attendance page appears by default.
    • Filter by Grade and Date, then click GO.
  3. Highlight all students and click on the Bulk Actions menu at the bottom of the screen.
    • A pop-up will appear.
  4. Select the Attendance Type along with the Reason (the reason is optional and unavailable for all attendance types), then click Save. (Complete this step for each grade).

Attendance by Grade Tab

  1. In Educate School, click the Students tab. The Students tab appears with the Directory options displayed by default.
  2. Under the Students tab, click the Attendance sub-tab
  3. Select the By Grade tab.
    • This page allows you to enter reasons, comments, and Check-in/Check-out times for each student.
  4. To take attendance for a day other than today, in the Date text box at the top of the student list, type the desired date and click Go.
    • OR click the Calendar icon to select the desired date and click Go.
    • OR click the Next Day and Previous Day icons to navigate dates.
  5. From the second dropdown menu on the top, select the grade you want to take attendance for first. Hint: Use the dropdown in the header row to mark attendance for all students on the page. This helps when most students have the same attendance type, requiring only changes for exceptions.
  6. In the Comment text box, type any comments for individual students.
  7. Optional: How to apply time Stamps
    • For One Student:
      1. Find the student’s name.
      2. Enter the attendance type and, if needed, the reason.
      3. Click into the Check-In box and enter the time.
      4. You can also enter the Check-Out time now or save and enter it later.
    • For Bulk Entry:
      1. Locate the bulk input boxes in the header row.
      2. Select the attendance type and, if needed, the reason.
      3. Click into the Check-In box and enter the time.
      4. You can also enter the Check-Out time now or save and enter it later.
    • Note: You must enter the attendance type before entering the Check-In or Check-Out time.

Check-In and Check-Out Time Tracker in Attendance

We heard you! We have added a Check-In and Check-Out Time Tracker within the attendance pages. This feature provides accurate record-keeping and tracks attendance down to the minute. To find out more about the Check-in and Check-out Time Tracker please check the release notes here.

If you do not want to use this feature, you can continue marking attendance as usual.
